Padauk colour can range from pale pink orange to a deep brownish red. Initial cuts tend to be a vibrant reddish orange and darken to reddish/purplish brown over time. The grain is typically straight with open and coarse texture. This species is very popular due to its sweet spot in density where it is hard enough but not so hard to make it difficult to work with. 

Hobby boards are milled from 4/4 lumber, finished thickness will vary between 3/4"-1".
